Your invitation to stress-free stock control

Our retail experts recently revealed that the average stock turn number across UK golf shops has dropped by almost 30% since 2022, reflecting the continued struggle felt by retailers when it comes to balancing stock.

Your shop’s stock turn is a simple ratio referring to the number of times you turn over, or sell, product during a year.  The decline from 3.7 last year to 2.7 in 2023 indicates a surplus of inventory across shops and a sharp reduction in retail efficiency.

The announcement is yet another wake-up call for the industry which continues to suffer from a lack of transparency between suppliers and retailers.

Unfortunately, problems with stock management are not a new phenomenon. Historically, brands have only been able to see what retailers order and currently have no understanding of sell thru. Meanwhile, for retailers, maintaining good stock levels is becoming more complicated and expensive.  Avoiding slow-moving stock and unhappy customers is a constant challenge.

From now on, good retail comes down to teamwork

An industry first, Brandtrac is an exciting new, free service designed to empower suppliers and relieve busy retailers of the pressure of stock control and inventory decision-making.

The brain child of Phil Barnard, Xpos Founder and industry expert, Brandtrac bridges the gap between golf manufacturers and pro shops, empowering brands and suppliers to help retailers achieve the correct stock balance.

How does Brandtrac Work?

Brandtrac sends real-time sales and stock data from the shops to suppliers, who can then make informed decisions on behalf of the pro shop. One example of how this will work is; when Brandtrac highlights fast-moving items, the supplier would replenish products and help avoid a stock-out. This would only happen with the retailer’s agreement.

What’s more, product creation is also simplified as participating brands are able to send new orders direct to Xpos. Stock then arrives overnight and golf retailers are able to stock in with just one click.

Connect and Collaborate

“Brandtrac brings manufacturers and retailers closer together and is a win-win for everyone.  By working together like this, golf retailers will save time, money and stress”, says Phil. “Collaborating brands will be able to manage stock shortages as well as slow and fast-moving inventory. At the same time, retailers will benefit from fewer stock-outs, less paperwork and admin time. Pro shop businesses will just be more efficient.”

Following its launch in September, it’s early days for Brandtrac but the team expects hundreds of new retailers to sign up over the coming months.  In addition, several of golf’s leading brands are already on board, with many more set to join Brandtrac shortly.
