Claire’s April News

In case you missed Claire Fraser’s April email yesterday, you can read it below.

Hi,

The start of the UK golf season is here at last. I’m sure you are looking forward to warmer days and a busy shop!

Reporting Update

I have been working closely with the team to improve two key reports that most of you use regularly. The End of Day and Cashing Up reports have been redesigned to be more user-friendly, while ensuring compliance with accounting best practices. They now include precise VAT breakdowns and categorised sales with a much smarter, clearer layout.

The new design is intuitive and easy to navigate. You’ll see all the essential information needed to manage your daily finances, and valuable insights into your business operations.

When the new-style reports come out, you’ll still have access to the original End of Day and Cashing Up reports for around three months. After this, they will be phased out.

As always, if you have any feedback, please don’t hesitate to let me know. More details to follow in next month’s email.

Cloud Rollout to Europe and Australia

After further successful testing this month, we are officially rolling out the cloud software to our users in Europe and Australia.

We are also delighted to see nearly all of those retailers signing up to Xeft, our integrated payment solution. This will prove invaluable to pro shops during the busy season, as it drastically cuts down wait times at the till.

Coming Soon

1)  Some great news. “Pay by Link” will be available next month for shops using Xeft.

I’m DELIGHTED this is going to replace Card Not Present (CNP) as a method of taking transactions online or over the phone. According to the European Central Bank, in 2022, CNP transactions represented over 80% of all card fraud losses.  Fraud really has proliferated with the increase in ecommerce and we want to help our retailers to circumvent this.

More and more payment providers and retailers are moving away from CNP to use Pay by Link, which is proven to be safer. Unlike CNP, Pay by Link uses secure gateways and complies with industry standards. It’s also an efficient and convenient way for customers to pay.

Adyen (the payment provider we have partnered with for Xeft), has a solid track record of working with leading retail businesses around the world.  The payment solution company has over 4,000 employees and processed €970.1 BN in 2023.

When a customer is not able to pay for an item in person, Pay by Link enables you to send a clickable link to a secure Adyen-hosted payment page. If you’d like to read more on Pay By Link, please see this page.  I would strongly advise our users to sign up to Xeft in order to benefit from Pay By Link. Our rates are highly competitive so do please email me for a quote.

2) More good news – This time for retailers in the Republic of Ireland, who will now be able to remove VAT for export sales in Xpos.  If you’re a retailer, or club, in the ROI with a high number of visitors, you’ll be pleased to hear you can remove the VAT on products sold to them, effectively increasing your margin.  Email support@xpos.co.uk for more on that.
